Webscape: The app offering free guitar lessons

Kate Russell's weekly review of websites and apps (links to sites are at the bottom of the page).

If you want to learn to play the guitar without expensive lessons you could have a go with Get Instinct. It is a free online app that judges your performance by listening to the notes you play through a microphone or sound input. At Year Of Rock you can also sign up for a weekly lesson delivered by email.

If you are more of a "sit back and observe" person check out Get Inspired 365. With a mixture of pictures, quotes and video this collection has been compiled by hand and it really hits the spot if you need a little morale boost.

We are getting more used to experiencing life in bite-sized pieces online. If you want visuals with a little more punch check out the free iOS and Android app - Tout. It is a new micro-blogging platform that lets you record or upload 15 second clips to share with the world.

And finally, Twitter's new music service is causing a buzz online. The app, called #Music, recommends music based on the artists you "follow" and some complex algorithms around track sharing.
