The scene in a flood-hit Pakistan village

The flood waters which devastated the north-west of Pakistan have moved south to the agricultural heartland of Punjab and on to Sindh.

There are fears that a key flood barrier in Sindh province could be breached, putting more Pakistanis at risk.

The downpours have led to unprecedented water levels at the Sucker barrage. Millions of people live in the area.

The United Nations is launching an international appeal for aid, saying that more people have been affected by the disaster than by the tsunami in 2004.
