Bhopal survivors ask Obama to pursue liability claims
More than 250 survivors of the Union Carbide gas leak disaster have protested on the streets of New Delhi to plea for help from President Barack Obama, who is visiting India as part of a 10-day Asian tour designed to boost US exports.
Survivors and supporters from the central Indian city of Bhopal want President Obama's help in pursuing liability claims on behalf of the victims. They also want him to do more to extradite the former boss of the US company involved in the industrial disaster.
Around 4,000 people died at the time of the tragedy in 1984 and more than 10,000 died in the years that followed.
