Afghanistan's President Karzai admits security failures

Afghanistan's President Hamid Karzai has told the BBC the failure to provide security to the Afghan people has been his government's greatest shortcoming.

But in his interview with John Simpson, he said Nato and the US must share the blame for failing to deal with the Taliban and accused Pakistan of supporting the insurgency.

It is 10 years since the US invaded Afghanistan in Operation Enduring Freedom, starting a war which has become the longest in US history.
