Judge blocks Arizona's controversial immigration law
A judge in Arizona has blocked key parts of the state's strict immigration law a day before it was to take effect.
The judge blocked a requirement that police check the immigration status of criminal suspects who they had stopped while enforcing other laws.
The law, opposed by President Obama, has been the focus of a nationwide human rights campaign.
The BBC's Rajesh Mirchandani reports from Phoenix in Arizona, on America's border with Mexico.
