US urges vigilance for travel in Europe

Europe remains on a high state of alert after warnings that Islamist militants are planning commando-style attacks in the UK, Germany and France.

It appears the information about the alleged plot came from a German citizen, of Afghan origin, who was captured in Afghanistan over the summer.

The US authorities are urging Americans in Europe to be vigilant.
