Obama: 'Congresswoman opens eyes for first time'

President Obama was paying tribute to the victims of Saturday's shooting in Arizona, in which a gunman killed six people and critically wounded 13 others including a Congresswoman.

At a memorial service in Tucson, Mr Obama addressed the heated political debate that's followed the attack calling on people to talk to each other "in a way that heals, not in a way that wounds".

He also said that Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords who was targeted in the attack, had opened her eyes for the first time since being shot.
