Is Hispanic education in crisis in US?

One in six Americans describe now themselves as Hispanic or Latino, according to recently released US Census data.

However, students from the fastest growing group in America - Hispanics accounted for more than half the total population growth over the past decade - also have the lowest education attainment levels in the country.

The White House says these students' education is in crisis. Nowhere is this more apparent than in New Mexico, where the majority of the state's children are Hispanic.

Despite their demographic dominance in the classroom only half of them will graduate from high school and just one in 10 will get a college degree.
