Zoo escape: It is beyond a bad dream, says animal expert

Nearly 50 lions, tigers and other animals have been shot in Ohio after the owner of a wild-animal park reportedly threw open their cages open and committed suicide.

Six animals were captured alive and taken to the Columbus Zoo, authorities said.

Jack Hanna, former director of the Columbus Zoo and a nationally known wild animal expert, was horrified by what had happened but said the police had no choice but to shoot them.
