Rice says 'bulk' of Syria violations from government
Violence in Syria has continued despite an announced truce between the Syrian government and the opposition, with about 25 people reportedly dying on Sunday, many of them in Homs.
US Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice tells the BBC's Katty Kay that there "definitely have been violations" of the ceasefire outlined in UN envoy Kofi Annan's plan, and "the bulk of them have come from the government side."
"There's real reason to question the [Syrian] government's commitment," Dr Rice said.
The ambassador said that the US and other countries would look at "stepping-up the pressure", possibly with further sanctions on Syria if the ceasefire does not hold.
