Tyler Clementi's turmoil grew at 'speed of light'

Dharun Ravi, a US student convicted of using a webcam to secretly film room-mate Tyler Clementi in a gay encounter, has been sentenced to 30 days in prison.

The victim's mother, Jane Clementi, read a statement to the court during Ravi's sentencing hearing.

Mrs Clementi, whose son killed himself days after the webcam incident, said that in his final days, her son's turmoil must have been growing "faster than the speed of light".
