Romney on Univision: 'We won't deport illegal migrants'
At a forum on Wednesday broadcast on Spanish-language US television network Univision, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney said he would not push for mass deportations of undocumented migrants in the US.
"We're not going to round up people around the country and deport them," the former Massachusetts governor said.
"Our system isn't to deport people. We need to provide a long-term solution."
Mr Romney said he would support a programme under which some undocumented immigrants who serve in the US military could become permanent residents of the US; President Barack Obama has instituted a similar programme by executive order.
