US election: Obama and Romney's final thoughts

President Barack Obama and his Republican rival for the White House, Governor Mitt Romney, have given their final thoughts on their campaigns as polls begin to close across America.

Speaking to press on board his campaign plane, Mr Romney said it was "humbling" to see his name on the ballot and that he felt he was going to win.

In a television interview, the president reflected on holding his last ever campaign rally and his hopes for being re-elected.
