US society divided over gun controls

The deaths of 20 children and six adults in a school shooting in Connecticut has triggered renewed debate about gun control in the US, where the right to bear arms is enshrined in the constitution.

The gun debate hardly featured in the recent presidential campaign but President Obama is now saying that things must change.
