US voters react to 'fiscal cliff' deal

President Obama has urged the House of Representatives to pass without delay a deal approved by the Senate to avert steep tax rises and budget cuts.

The measures had been due to come into effect automatically at the start of 2013 if an agreement had not been reached.

Voters have given a mixed response to the Senate deal.
