Obama hails service personnel at inaugural ball

President Barack Obama has welcomed US soldiers and others to the Commander-in-Chief's inaugural ball.

Mr Obama said inaugural day was "made possible because there are patriots like each and every one of you that defend our freedom every single day".

He then greeted military members stationed in Afghanistan via video conference.
