Eisenhower and Nixon: A strange political marriage

Before Richard Nixon won two terms of the US presidency, he was the vice-president to war hero president Dwight "Ike" Eisenhower.

Author Jeffrey Frank tells the BBC's Laura Trevelyan about "Ike and Dick's" strange political marriage, from how Eisenhower did not really choose the California senator to be his running mate, to nominee Nixon's habit of calling it the "Nixon-Eisenhower administration".

But Mr Frank argues that if Eisenhower had been alive at the time right before Watergate, Nixon would have been "too embarrassed" to be involved, as he still was in awe of the former Nato supreme commander.
