Iran link to alleged al-Qaeda Canada terrorist plot?

Iran has denied any link to two men arrested in Canada on suspicion of plotting a terrorist attack.

Chiheb Esseghaier, 30, and Raed Jaser, 35, were arrested in Montreal and Toronto on Monday.

Both men, foreign nationals who had been living in Canada, have been charged with plotting a terrorist attack on a passenger train - with support from al-Qaeda elements in Iran.

BBC Security Correspondent Frank Gardner says any link between al-Qaeda and Iran would be highly unusual.
