US leaker Snowden is a traitor, says John Boehner
The Speaker of the US House of Representatives has described Edward Snowden, who leaked information about America's mass surveillance programme, as a traitor who has put lives at risk.
The former CIA worker was last seen in Hong Kong but is now in hiding.
The American Civil Liberties Union has filed a lawsuit against the US government, saying it has violated the right to freedom of speech and privacy.
