Detroit bankruptcy: How Packard plant fell into ruin

It was once the home of the thriving American car industry and the base of Motown records.

But Detroit has now become the largest US city ever to file for bankruptcy, with debts of at least $18bn (£12bn).

Years of economic problems have led to more than half the population moving away and thousands of properties lying empty.
