Martin Luther King would be 'concerned about violence'
Martin Luther King Jr would be "very concerned" about the levels of poverty and violence in communities in the US if he were alive today, his eldest son has said.
Martin Luther King III spoke to the BBC on the eve of the 50th anniversary of his father's "I have a dream" speech to 250,000 people in Washington.
He said he thought his father would be proud of the US for electing President Barack Obama.
But he felt Dr King would be angry about the verdict in the Trayvon Martin case and what he called the gutting of the Voting Rights Act by the US Supreme Court.
