Audio pioneer Ray Dolby 'committed to excellence'

Tributes have been paid to the US audio pioneer who founded Dolby Laboratories, following his death in San Francisco aged 80.

Kevin Yeaman, president of Dolby Laboratories, said Ray Dolby was a man who was "committed to excellence" in all that he did.

Mr Dolby's name became synonymous with home sound systems and cinema, and his work won many awards.
