House Speaker John Boehner: 'House has done its work'

Republican House of Representatives Speaker John Boehner took to the floor of the House of Representatives on Monday to accuse his colleagues in the Democrat-controlled Senate of not working hard enough to reach a budget deal.

"The House has done its work. We passed a bill on Saturday night - sent it to the US Senate - that would delay Obamacare for one year," he said, referring to President Barack Obama's healthcare law.

"The Senate decided not to work yesterday. My goodness, if there is such an emergency, where were they?"

The US government will shut down at midnight on Tuesday if the two chambers of Congress fail to pass a budget measure.
