Support for the shutdown in Texas
Lawmakers in the US remain deadlocked in a battle over spending which has led to a shutdown of non-essential government operations.
The shutdown began on Tuesday when Republicans, who control the House of Representatives, refused to approve a budget, amid wrangling over funding for President Obama's healthcare law.
