Plane removed from New York highway after emergency landing
A small plane has made an emergency landing on a US interstate highway in the New York borough of The Bronx.
The single-engine Piper PA-28 touched down on the Major Deegan Expressway on Saturday afternoon. None of the three on board suffered serious injury, local media say.
Investigators are looking into the cause of the emergency - possibly a mechanical failure or fuel shortage. It is unclear how the plane managed to avoid highway traffic as it landed.
