California drive-by gunman 'wanted retribution'
The son of a Hollywood film director has been identified as the likely gunman who killed six people in a series of drive-by shootings in the US city of Santa Barbara.
Peter Rodger said he believed his son Elliot - who had a history of mental illness - was responsible for the murders, according to a statement from the family's lawyer.
Earlier, the 22-year-old had posted a video online complaining of years of rejection by women and threatening to take revenge.
