Obama thanks Congress saying 'We do not give in to fear'

President Obama has thanked Congress for their strong bipartisan support that "shows the world Americans are united in confronting the threat from Isil".

On Thursday Congress backed his $500m plan to train and arm the moderate Syrian rebels.

He made a statement to the press moments after the US Senate approved his plan.
