New York snow: States shut down amid blizzard
Areas of the north-east US have shut down as heavy snow falls across the entire region.
More than 5000 flights have been cancelled and over 2ft (60cm) of snow is predicted in some areas.
Meteorologists say winds of over 70 mph (112km/h) are expected.
The national weather service has described the storm as "potentially historic".
