Los Angeles shooting: Homeless man shot by police

A man has been shot and killed by Los Angeles police during an altercation at a homeless camp in the city's Skid Row area.

Police said that a Taser was deployed but that an "officer-involved shooting occurred" as the struggle continued.

Witnesses said the dead man was known as Africa and had been homeless after treatment for mental illness.
