US Ferguson police chief to step down

The police chief of the US city of Ferguson is to resign.

Tom Jackson has been criticised by many activists following the shooting of Michael Brown, an unarmed black teenager, by one of his officers in August last year. That killing was followed by days of protests.

Mr Jackson's police department and the city administration were criticised for racial bias in a report by the US Justice Department published last week.
