Pope Francis in US: Obama's tribute to pontiff's 'humility'

President Barack Obama has paid tribute to the ''humility'' of Pope Francis in his welcome address on the White House South Lawn in Washington.

It is the pontiff's first official visit to the US.

On Friday, he will attend the UN General Assembly in New York, and will hold an open-air Mass in Philadelphia on Sunday.
