George Mitchell: No winners in recent Jerusalem violence
As Israeli forces begin a major security effort to prevent further attacks between Israelis and Palestinians, the former US special envoy for peace in the region warns that all sides are set to lose out from such violence.
George Mitchell, who also played a key part in the Northern Ireland peace talks, tells the BBC's Laura Trevelyan that there is a "sense of despair" among those hoping to restore stability in the region.
Since the beginning of October, seven Israelis have been killed and dozens wounded in shooting and stabbing attacks, the Israeli authorities say.
