When OJ Simpson's house was bulldozed in 1998

LA police are testing a knife said to have been found at a former home of OJ Simpson, whose acquittal at his 1995 murder trial captivated the US.

According to reports, someone claiming to be a construction worker gave an off-duty police officer the knife some years ago. The officer, now retired, kept it, thinking the case was closed.

Police recently recovered the knife and are testing it for DNA and hair samples. They are also investigating the provenance of the knife.

His home in Brentwood, California was razed in 1998.
