White House spars with media over attorney general firing

White House spokesman Sean Spicer has hit back at criticism over the firing of acting attorney general Sally Yates, who had declined to defend President Trump's immigration order.

Ms Yates had argued it was her responsibility to ensure that the positions the Department of Justice took in court were "consistent" with its "solemn obligation to always seek justice and stand for what is right".
