Why did a US veteran give a stranger his Purple Heart?

They had never met but Jeff and Alaa both found themselves at Dulles airport near Washington after President Trump signed an executive order introducing extreme vetting for immigrants.

When they met, Jeff gave Alaa his Purple Heart military honour, which he was awarded after being wounded on active service.

Alaa says this is a story he will keep telling.
