Washington attorney general: 'This is about people's lives'

A US federal appeals court has unanimously refused to reinstate President Donald Trump's ban on travellers from seven Muslim-majority nations.

Washington state attorney general Bob Ferguson, who filed the initial lawsuit against the federal government, said the ban was "adopted with little thought, little planning, little oversight".

Its implementation created "chaos around the country", he added.
