Hidden VIP exit at hotel used by used by the Kennedys

The Travel Show's Jo Whalley goes behind the scenes to discover some hidden history at the Art Deco New Yorker hotel.

The hotel, at 481 Eighth Avenue in New York City, opened in 1930 - one year before the nearby Empire State Buidling. Throughout the 1940s and 1950s, the hotel was among New York's most fashionable.

It had its own VIP tunnel underground so that VIPs could access the nearby Pennsylvania subway station. It was used by John F Kennedy and Robert Kennedy on occasions.

Jo explores the disused tunnel and gets access to hotel roof to touch the iconic New Yorker neon lights seen across the city.
