Afghan bomb blast 'sends message' to IS

The former US ambassador to Afghanistan, Zalmay Khalilzad, said the massive bomb that the US dropped in the war-torn nation was meant to counter the Islamic State group's move into the region.

The so-called mother of all bombs was dropped on Thursday, the US announced.
