US Attorney General Jeff Sessions rebuffed criticism from his boss, President Donald Trump, saying he planned to stay in his job "as long as that is appropriate.

In an interview with the New York Times, Mr Trump said that he wouldn't have hired Mr Sessions had he known that he would later recuse himself from an ongoing investigation into possible ties between the Trump Campaign and Russia.
