Transplant success after donor heart helicopter crash in Los Angeles

A donor heart carried by a helicopter that crashed while landing at a Los Angeles hospital has been successfully transplanted.

Firefighters were able to retrieve the organ from the aircraft.

The helicopter pilot escaped with minor injuries.
