Joe Biden: 'Darkest days in the battle against Covid are ahead'

President-elect Joe Biden has urged Americans to remain vigilant and prepare for tens of thousands more deaths from Covid-19 in the months to come, despite new vaccines.

Mr Biden, who is due to be sworn in next month, has made the fight against the virus a priority and promised to distribute 100m vaccine shots in his first 100 days in office.
