Biden: 'We did something that was long overdue'

The US House of Representatives has passed a sweeping $1tn (£722bn) infrastructure bill, after weeks of wrangling between progressive and moderate Democrats.

President Joe Biden has hailed it as a "once in a generation opportunity."

A more ambitious social spending bill favoured by liberals was put on hold.
