US official quits over Israel aid: 'I had to resign'

Josh Paul, previously the director of congressional and public affairs at the State Department's Bureau of Political-Military Affairs, resigned after disagreeing with the Biden administration's continued military assistance to Israel.

"The transfer of arms comes with an immense responsibility to ensure those arms are not used to harm civilians and to commit human rights violations,” Paul told BBC News.

"What we see in Gaza is the misuse of US arms," he added.
