This New York resident wants his 750lb alligator back
Hamburg, New York resident Tony Cavallaro had his pet alligator 'Albert' for more than 30 years before he was seized by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC). The DEC said Cavallaro's permit to keep Albert had not been renewed since 2021 and that he allowed members of the public to "pet the unsecured alligator."
A community of supporters are defending Cavallaro in a campaign to get the gator back.
Albert weighs 750lb (340kg) and is 12ft (3.6m) long.
