What's popular and why

What started as light hearted inside joke between two California high school students has taken the web by storm.

A video, external, featuring 15 year old Josh Holz complimenting his friend Daniel Lara, 14, by repeating the phrases 'Damn Daniel', and 'Back at it again with the white Vans', has been viewed millions of times.

His phrases have since become memes, and have been imitated by thousands online, including the world's richest man Bill Gates. But not everybody is a fan.
