FirstGroup West Coast Mainline bid 'good for passengers'

FirstGroup has won its bid to run the West Coast Mainline ahead of current operator Virgin Rail.

Chief executive of FirstGroup, Tim O'Toole, said planned improvements included new electric trains north of Birmingham, direct services to more places, and new train interiors.
