Ryanair 'growing like gangbusters', says O'Leary

Budget airline Ryanair is to expand its operation, creating up to one thousand jobs at airports in Liverpool, Manchester and the East Midlands.

Chief executive Michael O'Leary said he hoped the company would carry an extra one million passengers as a result, with new jobs at every level from pilots to baggage handlers.

He added that the company's success at a time when other carriers are struggling was partly due to its strategy of basing some larger aircraft at regional airports around the UK, rather than London.
