Xiaomi 'overtakes' Samsung in China
China's Xiaomi has overtaken Samsung to become the biggest seller of smartphones in China, according to research group Canalys.
The company shipped around 15 million phones to Chinese customers in the second quarter.
Meanwhile in India, Micromax has overtaken Samsung as the leading seller of smartphones and lower cost phones, according to a separate report by Counterpoint Research.
Rachel Lashford, the vice president of analysis at Canalys, explained how the two challenger firms had make their mark.
