Durban Port is one of the busiest and biggest in South Africa. An estimated 80 tonnes of cargo move through here from thousands of ships all year round.

The port is also home to shipbuilding and maintenance firms, which saw their business slow to a halt due to the pandemic.

Despite this, shipbuilding is still one of the largest contributors to South Africa's economy.
