Preston North End chairman Craig Hemmings has reiterated the club's intention to significantly overhaul the playing squad during this summer transfer window.

The Lilywhites lost 10 players at the end of the season, with six released upon expiration of their contracts, including Emil Riis, Freddie Woodman and Ryan Ledson.

Meanwhile, loanees Kaine Kesler-Hayden, Jayden Meghoma, Ryan Porteous and Sam Greenwood all returned to their parent clubs.

Chief executive Peter Ridsdale previously said Preston would likely need at least eight signings.

The club have already made four, with goalkeeper Daniel Iverson, defenders Pol Valentin and Thierry Small and midfielder Jordan Thompson arriving.

Hemmings has suggested more players will be brought in between now and the start of the Championship campaign in August.

"This transfer window more than any other in my tenure as chairman is about revolution and not evolution," Hemmings told the club website, external.

"Paul Heckingbottom and his coaching staff have a significant opportunity to reshape the football squad into the team and style of play they believe needed to compete for the play-off places.

"Plans have long been made and player targets identified for the summer transfer window.

"We believe our scouting infrastructure, analytics focus, and efficient decision-making processes will enable us to move quickly to land some hidden gems, both from the UK and internationally."

As the transfer window is now open again until 1 September, we asked you to tell us one player you want Burnley to sign, and a player you want to be sold this summer.

Here are some of your comments:

Peter: There's quite a few we could sell. Top of the list would be Zeki Amdouni and Lyle Foster as neither are good enough for the Premier League. As for buying, any reasonably good striker as that should be the main priority!

Zion: We need to sign a striker and a midfielder - somebody like Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. Also, some new centre-backs are needed because we are probably going to lose Maxime Esteve and we have already lost CJ Egan-Riley.

Sam: Egan-Riley is a big loss to a back five that achieved so much as a unit last year. I'm concerned about the disruptive effect of players returning from exile who were 'too good' to play in the Championship (Amdouni, Ekdal). We obviously need a striker and the Danny Ings link should be explored. Honestly, I'd be happy if we put up a fight but come back down because the Championship years are much more interesting and exciting.

Jubilicious: Sell Mike Tresor as he won't play this season. Buy anyone who doesn't want stupidly high wages.

James Anderson, England's all-time leading wicket-taker, has entered Thursday's Big Bash draft as he continues his quest to play franchise cricket for the first time.

Anderson will be 43 when the tournament takes place at the back-end of the year and he will be the oldest overseas player to feature in the tournament and potentially second-oldest of any nationality.

He retired from Test cricket last summer but is continuing to play for Lancashire and has impressed with 10 wickets in four matches, at an average of 10.30 and economy of 6.86, in the T20 Blast.

Anderson entered the Indian Premier League auction but went unsold. He was also not picked in The Hundred draft, but could yet sign as a replacement.

Zak Crawley and Liam Livingstone have also entered the Big Bash draft, and join Jacob Bethell, Ollie Pope, Jofra Archer and Sam Curran among more than 50 English players on the list.

New Zealand's Kane Williamson has also put himself forward but a clash with the SA20 limits his availability to just three matches.

Recent England debutant Em Arlott has entered the women's draft, alongside South African Mignon du Preez, who gave birth to twins earlier this year.

The draft takes place from approximately 07:00 BST on Thursday.
